Accounts Assistant

Benson, Wood & Co Chartered Accountants are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as accounts assistants. We are a firm in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire and due to continued rapid growth, we are now expanding our team. If you are an experienced, self-motivated individual who is able to work on their own and to tight deadlines then we could be the company for you!

The key responsibilities are:

  • Preparing accounts for Limited companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, LLPs and Charities
  • Preparation of management accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Managing, overseeing Bookkeeping and VAT Returns (Cloud experience would be advantageous but, not required. Full training will be provided).
  • Preparing Personal and Corporation Tax Returns for lodging to HMRC.
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Arranging and attending client meetings
  • Assisting Seniors, Managers and Partners
  • Contribute to training of Junior members of staff

The ideal candidate will preferably have:

  • Academic background in Accountancy or prior experience of working within an accountancy practice environment
  • Be motivated to join a fast-paced progressive working environment
  • Be able to communicate professionally and effectively with both clients and colleagues
  • Possess good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft office. Working knowledge of accounting software preferably TaxCalc, Xero, Dext Prepare and Sage 50 accounts. This is not essential as full training will be given.

This role is open to non/part qualified accountants who have relevant experience. You will have the opportunity to progress your career as we will support and help you meet your personal targets. You will be working alongside seniors, managers and partners and will benefit from their knowledge and experience.
